Do I need to register ahead of time?

You are more than welcome to drop into a class at any time without pre-registering. It is highly recommended that you pre-register for class so that you are notified via email in the event of a schedule change. This is especially helpful for our outdoor classes as weather will move our class indoors. Pre-registration also helps speed up the check-in process for your instructor.

I haven’t worked out since having my baby, will I be able to keep up?

Absolutely! You can set your own pace. If you are new to exercising or newly postpartum we recommend you start slowly and build up gradually. Our classes are designed for every level of fitness. We offer variety for each exercise including modifications and challenges. You do what feels right for you. FIT4MOM is a non-competitive, judgement free, welcoming group fitness class.

We recommend waiting until your baby is at least 6 weeks of age. As with any exercise after birth, you must have physician’s clearance to begin Stroller Strides! All stroller age children are welcome to attend class as long as they remain securely seated in a stroller for the duration of the class.

Can my child stand on a glide board attached to my stroller during class?

FIT4MOM's stroller policy is that all children must remain seated and secured for the duration of our stroller classes. This policy is to ensure the safety of your child and our class participants. We do not permit stroller riders of any kind in our classes. All children must have a seat.

What is your weather policy?

We do our best to keep our outdoor class outdoors from April to October. We move inside for rain, lightning, high heat and cold. If the temperature is greater than 85 degrees F at start time we move indoors. If it is cooler than 50 degrees F at class start time, we also move indoors. We will update our schedule on our website and send an email notification to those pre-registered at least 1 hour prior to class start time.

Where do classes meet?

Class at the Garden State Plaza meets in the food court. Park under the AMC parking deck and enter the mall near the Family Play Space. The group travels down the hallway to the lower level Macy’s entrance for the warm up. The class continues through the lower level to the second JC Penny entrance and then heads back toward Macy’s. If you arrive late travel the lower level – you will find us! **December Classes Meet in the corridor next to MAC on the lower level**

The Ridgewood Duckpond class meets at the flagpole next to the pond in front of Camp Sunshine. We travel toward Ridgewood Avenue for the first station and around the pond stopping by the dog park and then headed out to the covered picnic tables. We end class where we began at the flagpole.

Babies R Us class meets at the learning center in the front of the store – enter the main entrance and head to your left just beyond the registers. Between stations we power walk through the store and come back to the learning center.

What should I wear and bring to class?

You should wear sneakers and comfortable clothes. We recommend layers in the cooler months. Please bring yourself, your baby, plenty of water, a towel or mat for floor exercises, hand sanitizer or hand wipes, a stroller that is not prone to tipping and anything your baby may need. We recommend sunglasses, sunscreen, bug spray and layered clothing at our outdoor locations. A blanket for baby on cool days. On hot days, stroller fans or cold packs for the stroller to keep baby cool are also helpful. You are welcome to bring a baby carrier.
